A Family's Love: In Honor of Angelia Marie Gibson

Within hours of hearing the bad news, the entire family is gathered together. Their busy lives and highly demanding careers are immediately put on hold without a second thought.

Granny's house is where we go. We know her house will be filled with love, food, and comfort. This is time for family. We laugh, we cry, we remember Angie.

As we honor her life and memory, we find comfort because we are together. The sadness of her passing is subdued, if only temporarily.

The love of this family cannot be described in words or in a photo. Only in the moment—when we are all together—can you feel in your heart what words and photos fail to describe.

Amanda's aunt once told me that if I survived a wacky and crazy Shrove family gathering, then I am a keeper. After eight years in this family, I can't survive without it now.

Angelia loved many things. She loved her family and especially her husband Jimmy. Her biggest blessings were her grandchildren, Kaytie and James, and she made a point to spend as much time with them as possible.

Mrs. Gibson loved her children, who were a special blessing in her life and provided her with unconditional love and support.

Angelia loved life and made every effort to enjoy each day. Her love for God and His son Jesus was very important to her, as she found hope and love in the arms of Jesus, her “refuge and fortress,” as she said many times.

Some of her favorite pastimes were playing games, completing puzzles, painting, and enjoying time with her dog, Hulk.

Angelia’s laughter and smile will be missed by everyone in her family but will carry on in the smile and laughter of her grandchildren.
